Itinerary information
Day 1: Arrival in Udaipur – The City of Lakes
Upon arrival at Udaipur Airport or Railway Station, our driver will receive you and transfer you to your accommodation. Check into your private villa or hotel and freshen up.
Begin your Udaipur exploration in the afternoon with a visit to the magnificent City Palace — a 400-year-old royal complex blending Rajasthani and Mughal architecture with breathtaking views of Lake Pichola from its upper terraces. Walk through ornate courtyards, mirror-work galleries, and royal museums.
In the evening, take a sunset boat cruise on Lake Pichola — watching City Palace turn amber and the lake surface turn to liquid gold as the sun drops behind the Aravalli Hills. End the evening with a lakeside dinner at one of Udaipur's iconic rooftop restaurants.
Overnight Stay: Private Villa or Hotel in Udaipur (1 to 8 BHK Private Villas available via Udaipur Tour Planners)
Day 2: Udaipur Full Day Sightseeing
After breakfast, spend a full day exploring Udaipur's finest attractions.
Morning visit to Jag Mandir Island Palace — accessible only by boat, this 17th-century island palace rises dramatically from the centre of Lake Pichola. The gardens, pavilions, and lake views here are extraordinary.
Continue to Saheliyon Ki Bari — the beautifully maintained royal garden with marble fountains, lotus ponds, and peacocks wandering freely through shaded pathways.
Afternoon visit to Fateh Sagar Lake and the promenade walk. Browse the artisan workshops and handicraft lanes of Hathi Pol Bazaar for authentic Rajasthani souvenirs.
Evening at Bagore Ki Haveli for the traditional Rajasthani folk dance and puppet show — one of the most authentic cultural experiences in Udaipur.
Overnight Stay: Private Villa or Hotel in Udaipur
Day 3: Udaipur – Kumbhalgarh – Ranakpur
After early breakfast, depart by private AC cab toward Kumbhalgarh Fort (85 km, approximately 2 hours).
Kumbhalgarh Fort is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Rajasthan's most awe-inspiring monuments. Built in the 15th century by Maharana Kumbha, the fort is enclosed by a wall stretching 36 km — the second longest continuous wall in the world after the Great Wall of China. Walk the ramparts, explore the Kumbhal Palace complex, and visit the ancient temples within the fort grounds. The panoramic views across the Aravalli Hills are simply magnificent.
En route to Jodhpur, stop at the breathtaking Ranakpur Jain Temple — famous worldwide for its 1,444 intricately carved marble pillars, each one unique. The craftsmanship here is some of the finest stonework in all of India.
Continue driving to Jodhpur. Arrive in the evening and check in.
Overnight Stay: Hotel in Jodhpur
Day 4: Jodhpur – The Blue City
Full day exploring Jodhpur — Rajasthan's second largest city and one of its most visually dramatic destinations.
Morning visit to Mehrangarh Fort — widely considered the finest fort in all of Rajasthan. Its sheer sandstone walls rise 120 metres directly from a rocky hilltop. Inside, seven successive gates, multiple ornate palaces, and a world-class museum trace 600 years of Marwar royal history. The panoramic views of Jodhpur's blue city spreading below the fort walls are extraordinary.
Visit Jaswant Thada — a beautiful white marble cenotaph built in 1899 with intricate lattice screens and a peaceful lakeside setting.
Afternoon walk through the famous blue city lanes beneath the fort walls — traditional Brahmin houses painted brilliant indigo blue, narrow winding streets, artisan workshops, and a living medieval atmosphere unlike anywhere else in Rajasthan.
Evening at Sardar Market and Clock Tower — Jodhpur's most vibrant bazaar. Try the legendary Makhania Lassi before heading back to rest.
Overnight Stay: Hotel in Jodhpur
Day 5: Jodhpur – Osian – Jaisalmer
After breakfast, check out and begin the scenic drive to Jaisalmer (285 km, approximately 5 hours) through increasingly dramatic desert landscape.
Break the journey at Osian (65 km from Jodhpur) — an ancient desert temple town with beautifully preserved 8th to 11th-century Hindu and Jain temples carved from golden sandstone. The Sachiya Mata Temple is particularly impressive. Allow 60–90 minutes to explore properly.
Continue into the deepening Thar Desert. The road becomes a straight line through sparse scrub and open sky — and then, rising from the flat desert horizon, your first glimpse of Jaisalmer's Golden Fort. That moment never fails to stop travelers completely.
Arrive Jaisalmer by late afternoon. Check in to Hotel Narpatgarh Palace — a beautifully crafted heritage property with traditional sandstone architecture, comfortable rooms, warm hospitality, and a rooftop terrace with commanding Jaisalmer Fort views.
Overnight Stay: Hotel Narpatgarh Palace, Jaisalmer
Day 6: Jaisalmer City Tour + Desert Camp
Morning full day exploring Jaisalmer city — one of the world's most extraordinary living medieval cities.
Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila) — the world's largest fully inhabited living fort. Approximately 3,000 people still live within its golden sandstone walls. Walk through its massive gates, explore the narrow inner lanes, visit the ancient Jain temples inside the fort complex with their remarkable carved marble interiors, and browse the rooftop cafes and craft shops that make this fort feel genuinely alive.
Patwon Ki Haveli — five grand connected mansions built by wealthy Jain merchants in the 19th century. The most ornate and elaborate haveli in Jaisalmer with extraordinarily detailed golden sandstone carvings covering the entire facade.
Gadisar Lake — a serene 14th-century artificial lake on the outskirts of the city. Morning visits when the light is golden and the surface perfectly still are particularly beautiful.
Afternoon — Desert Camp Experience:
Depart for Sam Sand Dunes (42 km from Jaisalmer city) and check in to Shrinath Desert Camp — Jaisalmer's finest overnight desert camping experience.
At Shrinath Desert Camp:
- Sunset camel safari across the golden Sam dunes — riding across the Thar as the sky turns pink, orange, and deep crimson is one of Rajasthan's most iconic experiences
- Swiss cottage tent accommodation — proper beds, clean attached bathrooms, electricity, authentic desert interiors
- Evening cultural programme — Kalbeliya folk dancers, traditional musicians playing dholak and sarangi, puppet show, fire performance — all around the campfire
- Traditional Rajasthani dinner — dal baati churma, gatte ki sabzi, ker sangri, bajra roti, and sweets served fresh by campfire light
- Stargazing above the Thar Desert — the Milky Way visible to the naked eye, the most star-filled sky most travelers have ever witnessed
- Sunrise on the dunes — wake before dawn, walk to the dune crest, and watch the Thar Desert sunrise paint the golden sand in extraordinary light
Overnight Stay: Shrinath Desert Camp, Sam Sand Dunes, Jaisalmer
Day 7: Jaisalmer – Departure
Wake early for the desert sunrise experience from the top of the Sam dunes. Morning chai and breakfast at camp.
Transfer back to Jaisalmer city. Visit any remaining sights or browse local markets for last-minute Rajasthani souvenirs — blue pottery, camel leather goods, mirror-work textiles, and silver jewelry.
Transfer to Jaisalmer Railway Station or Airport for your onward journey.
Tour Ends — with memories that last a lifetime.
